Prayer Bell ("we", "our", or "the app") is a free mobile application that provides Islamic prayer times, Qibla direction, and Quran audio. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Location Data

Prayer Bell requests access to your device's location (GPS) solely to calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction for your area. Location data is processed on-device and is not stored on any server or shared with third parties.

Notification Preferences

Your prayer notification settings (which prayers you have enabled, chosen sound, and custom times) are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device.

No Account Required

Prayer Bell does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers.

2. Third-Party Services

Prayer Time Data

To fetch prayer times, the app makes network requests to third-party prayer time data providers. Only your approximate GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) are sent. No personal data is transmitted.

Location Name Lookup

The app uses a reverse geocoding service to convert your coordinates into a readable location name (e.g. "London"). Only coordinates are sent; no personal data is shared.

Google AdMob

Prayer Bell displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device information and use cookies to serve relevant ads. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Ads are served with non-personalised ads enabled by default.

3. Data Storage

All user preferences (language, theme, notification settings, prayer times cache) are stored locally on your device only. We do not operate any backend servers or databases that store your data.

4. Permissions Explained

• Location (Fine & Coarse) – to calculate prayer times and Qibla for your position.
• Post Notifications – to send prayer time reminders.
• Schedule Exact Alarm / Use Exact Alarm – to deliver notifications at precise prayer times.
• Receive Boot Completed – to reschedule notifications after the device restarts.
• Use Full Screen Intent – to display prominent prayer alerts.
• Request Ignore Battery Optimisations – to ensure notifications are not delayed by battery saving modes.
• Internet – to fetch prayer times and display ads.
• Vibrate – for notification vibration.

5. Children's Privacy

Prayer Bell is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
